Thank you for all of your help last evening…of course, I was up in the middle of the night working on stuff…I ordered ,through HP, the 250GB Pocket Media Drive. I hope that is the correct antidote for my problem downloading files to a DVD for backup.
Please advise if not.

That hard drive will help with your backups, but for DVD burning specifically, you will need a burner. I’m suggesting this one: http://www.amazon.com/External-Super-Multi-Lightscribe-HP1040E/dp/B000Q79OSG/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
